ASA Transporter, Best Transport and Valedo in partnership for continued expansion

After several years of positive development, ASA Transporter (”ASA”) and Best Transport (”Best”) are merging to create a market leader within courier and express delivery services. In connection with the transaction, Valedo has reached an agreement to invest in partnership with previous owners, the board and key employees. With Valedo as a new majority owner, the company will have additional resources in terms of expertise and capital to achieve and accelerate the long-term growth and development plan.

ASA and Best are two of the leading courier companies in Sweden; ASA with presence in Stockholm and Mälardalen and Best with presence in both Stockholm and Gothenburg. The companies have a diversified customer base with clients within logistics, health care, office and IT. ASA and Best have similar business models with contracted carriers who are responsible for their own vehicles and personnel. Both companies have in recent years shown strong organic growth and currently have a combined turnover of around SEK 250 million.

CEO, Peter Lennartsson, comments:
“ASA and Best have ambitions plans, high potential and clear goals for the future. With a strong majority owner, we will become an even bigger and more comprehensive provider of courier and express delivery services. Together, we have a very promising journey ahead of us, with new opportunities for customers, employees, carriers and other partners.”

Alongside Valedo, the former majority owners of ASA, key employees, and new board members will invest. Lars Johansson (chairman of Arne Anderssons Åkeri and former CEO of Dometic) has been appointed chairman and Mats Lönnqvist (chairman of Evidensia and Spendrups Bryggeri and former CFO of PostNord), Matthias Kettelhoit (CEO of Aditro Logistics, former business director at Schenker), Mikael Bergkvist (Partner at Actinvest, former CEO of Flygbussarna) and Rolf Söder (previous CEO of ASA) have been appointed board members.

The terms and conditions of the transaction are not disclosed.
