CreVal invests in Lödösehus Group

CreVal has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in AB Lödösehus, a care company with operations through the wholly owned subsidiaries Solhaga by and Leerhem. The transaction is a partnership with the previous controlling owners Carl and Maud Ekman, who will remain in the company as minority owners and in their roles as CEO and COO. The Lödösehus Group is a leading private care company in the Västra Götaland region focussing on care of intellectually handicapped individuals and they have a reputation of high quality in their service offering. With CreVal as owner, the Group will have additional resources in the form of competence and capital to drive growth and take an active role in the consolidation and development of the industry.

The Lödösehus Group, with headquarters in Lödöse, offers group accommodations and daily activities for individuals with intellectual handicaps, autism and autism-like syndromes. Recently, the Group has also started to offer group accommodation for children with similar syndromes. The Group has contracts with 24 municipalities and boroughs in the Västra Götaland region and has been active in the care industry since the 1950s, with an long-standing reputation for high quality in the service offering, which has been confirmed in recent studies. In 2006, the Group reached a turnover of approximately SEK 100 million and had around 200 employees.

CreVal is an independent Swedish private equity fund with an industrial focus and manages approximately SEK 1 billion. CreVal invests in small and mid-sized high quality companies with growth potential where CreVal can contribute and accelerate the development. To actively drive and increase growth and industrial development of portfolio companies, CreVal has a large network of senior industrialists with a broad experience from a number of different sectors. In Lödösehus, CreVal will appoint Bertil Fredriksson (Chairman of Integrerad Närsjukvård Sverige AB and Evidens AB as well as former board member of Axess Akuten), Bibbi Carlsson (Chairman of Primärvården Göteborg, former hospital executive in Mölndal, division manager of Bure Hälsa and CEO for Landstingförbundet i Stockholm) and Lise-lott Eriksson (executive experience of LSS care) as board members.
